Procurement Skills Self Assessment
Does your procurement function have the skills it requires
to deliver your strategy against a shifting landscape?
What is it?
This is a self-assessment of your Procurement skills. You will be guided through eight dimensions of Procurement as you assess yourself on a range of question items. It explores the Procurement Attributes, Business Attributes and Personal Attributes that drive excellence in procurement. As such, skills are uniquely aligned to each distinct phase and capabilities of procurement.
The 8 dimensions are:
- Opportunity Analysis
- Market Analysis
- Strategy Development
- Market Engagement
- Contract Implementation
- Supplier Relationship Management
- Strategy Refresh
What happens when I finish?
On completion you will receive an individual report with an assessment of your capability across a range of technical competencies. It will highlight each dimension of procurement focussing on both your strengths and your developmental opportunities. The key output is a set of 70:20:10 recommendations that will help you consider your development priorities with suggestions for you to use in your workplace.
What is this assessment based on and how reliable is it?
The context for the question set is based on an established phased approach to the strategic procurement process. The content of each question has been considered by procurement consultants and practitioners in Australia and United Kingdom to ensure relevance, reliability and validity of the assessment.
How challenging is the assessment?
The evaluation is designed to gain insights into team and individual skill sets. To this end there are varying levels of difficulty in the question set however, criteria are not designed to ‘trip up’ or trick you. There is no ‘good’ or ‘bad’ profile result but rather an insight into the overall picture.
